Coaraze is a municipality of Alpes-Maritimes whose main town is classified among the most beautiful villages in France.
Understand
This hilltop village is located in the Nice hinterland. The town was notably inhabited by the Leagues, the Celts, then the Romans. The village is the site of a battle, in 1793, or the Marshal Victor pushed back 3,000 Piedmontese and a regiment of emigrants with its battalion of 600 men.

Coaraze is one of the starting points for the hike to the "ghost village" of 1 Rocca-Spaviéra and its Saint-Michel chapel. It takes 4 hours of walking to make the outward journey.
