Colmar mountain (lux.: Kolmer-Bierg, Colmar mountain) is a small municipality in Luxembourg. The municipality belongs to the canton of Mersch.
background
Berg Castle has been the main residence of the Grand Dukes of Luxembourg since 1845 (through acquisition by Wilhelm II), with a brief interruption. In 1848 the constitution confirmed it as a residence. In 1906, Grand Duke Adolf I had the building completely demolished and built a new one, today's castle. The construction was completed in 1911. When the war broke out and the Grand Duke had financial hardships, the family moved from 1934 until Henri's accession to the throne in 1964 and lived in Fischbach Castle during this time.
