Csongrád is a city in Hungary.
background
The “green city of Csongrád”, as it is kindly called today, is actually adorned with a lot of older and magnificent trees everywhere in the village. The area was settled as early as the Neolithic. The city is first mentioned in a document in 1075 AD and mentioned around 1153 as large and populous. Due to the consequences of the Tatar attacks around 1241, the city was plundered and devastated, the rapid growth was thus stopped, thereupon König relocated Béla IV. the official business in the city of Szeged. In the following years Csongrád was deserted for some time due to internal divisions between the settled Magyars and the trade routes were shifted in other directions. The time of the Turkish sieges from 1591 lasted until the liberation around 1686. Later, after the Second World War, the city regained importance and the economy could gradually be restarted. Today the idyllic city offers relaxing stays and interesting sights for tourists.
