Dasol is a municipality of 29,000 people (2015) in Pangasinan that is inextricably connected to the sea. It has a sizable number of tourism amenities along the beach and other attractions to draw tourism.

Dasol is a sleepy township tucked away on the coastal plains of Pangasinan, which are is largely vested in salt harvesting through the channeling of seawater into ponds where it is evaporated.
The municipality came about when it was created out of another in 1911. It has a somewhat interesting history, though, given that both American and Japanese vessels were sunk offshore during World War II. There was a brief communist insurrection around 1950 that cost a few lives.

Dasol is 290 km (180 mi) north from Manila via Camiling, Tarlac and 88 km (55 mi) from Dagupan City. Taking the opposite direction via Subic and Olongapo City, Dasol is 310 km (190 mi) away from Manila.
Dasol can be reached by bus or jeepney trips from Alaminos and Santa Cruz. Notable bus companies are Victory Liner, and Luzon Cisco Transport. a sister company of Five Star.

Beaches
For the tourist, Dasol is all about the beaches, where swimming or scuba diving or just idling under an umbrella are possible.
- 1 Tambobong Beach. Creamy white sand and lots of boats. Has some secluded coves, too, but unfortunately also some litter problems sometimes.
- 2 Cabongaoan Beach. Has a sinkhole type of geologic phenomenon that people call a "deathpool" because of the way the water gets sucked down there. Tourquoise water and more white sand and little coves make for a great escape though.
- 3 Culebra Island. Idyllic beaches if you can get to this isle.
- 4 Pao Beach.
- 5 Abagatanen Beach.
- 6 Selosa Beach/Bangul Crags. A beach with a headland you can walk out on.
