Deshaies (creole: Déhé) is a community in Guadeloupe.
background
The small fishing village was founded in 1730. It is about 40 km from the center of Pointe-à-Pitre. The white church with the red tower roof can be seen from afar. The Grande-Anse beach is about 2 km from the center and, with 2 km in length, is one of the most beautiful and longest beaches on the island.

- Plage de la Perle, Rifflet. Wide beach with golden sand. The sea is rough and deep here.
- Plage de Ferry. Small sandy beach. The sea is rough here but not dangerous.
- Plage de Grande-Anse. One of the most famous beaches, 2 km outside the village with many restaurants. He is long. shady and has golden yellow sand. There are picnic tables and toilets here, water sports are possible and the necessary equipment can be rented. Lots of locals come here on holidays. At the Pointe Battery, as the name suggests, there is an old fort with several cannons.
- Plague du Petit Bas-Vent. Nudist beach where many guests of the Fort Royal hotel meet.
