getting there
By plane
Donetsk has no functioning airport since the civil war. There was a daily direct connection to Munich.
By train
The train station is just outside the center at the end of Artema Boulevard. From here there are daily connections to Kiev (travel time: 12-16h) and Simferopol. The train to Lviv runs every two days (travel time: 24 hours). For the connection Kiev-Donetsk, the daily night train is recommended, which starts in Kiev around 7 p.m. and arrives in Donetsk around 7 a.m. The trip from Donetsk to Kiev takes place at the same times.
mobility
Donetsk has a well-developed system of trolley buses and marshrutkas. There is also a single tram line. There are no timetables in Donetsk or anywhere else in Ukraine. The start and destination of the buses, maschrutkas and the tram are noted on the vehicle.

The central market in Donetsk offers everything your heart desires. Fruit, vegetables, meat, fish, various foods, clothing, shoes, housewares, technology, sanitary articles and bridal wear! (inside the market hall, nice to look at)
Those who stay longer can also pay a visit to the very well-equipped reading room of the Goethe Institute. In addition to a selection of literature on a wide variety of topics, there are also German magazines and newspapers, and there is also a reading room of the British Council and the Institut Francais on site.

There are two large shopping malls in Donetsk: "Zolotoe Koltso", the golden ring is at the bottom of Universitetska Street. The second shopping mall opened in 2006 and is located on Artema Boulevard, at the level of the bus stop "Planetarium".
There are also centers with small shops inside: the "white swan" and the Univermag on Artema-Boulevard.
