By plane

Donetsk has no functioning airport since the civil war. There was a daily direct connection to Munich.

By train

The train station is just outside the center at the end of Artema Boulevard. From here there are daily connections to Kiev (travel time: 12-16h) and Simferopol. The train to Lviv runs every two days (travel time: 24 hours). For the connection Kiev-Donetsk, the daily night train is recommended, which starts in Kiev around 7 p.m. and arrives in Donetsk around 7 a.m. The trip from Donetsk to Kiev takes place at the same times.
