Arenal (Majorcan s’Arenal, Spanish El Arenal) is a tourist settlement on the Platja de Palma in the south of the Balearic Island Mallorca. Officially, there is no community called s’Arenal, but part of the settlement belongs to the island's capital Palma de Mallorca, partly to the community Llucmajor. S’Arenal is mainly from the beach, mass tourism facilities as well as the water park Aqualand embossed.

Until the first half of the 20th century, s’Arenal was a tiny fishing village. The place has been shaped by tourism since the 1950s, the number of inhabitants has multiplied since then, and high-rise buildings have completely changed the face of Arenal. In s’Arenal, the beach bars are 200 meters away (Balnearios) Nº 1-3. To the notorious Balneario Nº 6 ("Ballermann 6") is only another 800 meters along the beach.

By plane
El Arenal is only 7 km from the Gran Canaria Airport(IATA: LPA)) away. The public bus lines 21 and A51 go directly from the airport to Arenal. With line A51 it only takes 10 minutes to get to Av. Miramar, Line 21, takes about 25 minutes because of numerous stops.
