- 1 Cascades cove (from Piton Sainte-Rose follow national road 2 south on 2,5 km and turn left) – A seaside park where there is a series of waterfalls and where it is nice to have a picnic under the trees, but really a place to bathe.

Bélouve forest trail
- 1 Bélouve forest, Trou de fer hike (possible access on foot: in 4 h 30 downhill from the Piton des Neiges refuge on a potentially very muddy path, or via the Salazie / Hell Bourg cirque; by car from Plaine-des-Palmistes, take the Col de Bébour road (1 414 m) then cross the forest of Bébour to arrive at the car park two hundred meters from the forest lodge) – Very nice forest lodge. To visit the Trou de fer, plan to arrive well before noon because of the rising mist from the sea.
- A long route is taken immediately to the right (University path), it crosses the most beautiful forest with endemic flowers and plants, magnificent tree ferns (3 to 4 m from above). The ground is very muddy, but luckily the "foresters" did a wonderful job building pontoons and wooden stairs on a good part. At every corner, we expect to come face to face with a gorilla or Tarzan. The view of the Trou-de-Fer is magnificent.
- The return can be done by the path which leads to the Forest Lodge, the path is shorter and cleaner. The Gîte opens at 15 h and serves great meals, if you forgot yours.
- The ultimate is to break the bank and make the same trip by helicopter and go down to the bottom of the hole. With paragliding it is a most unforgettable experience.
