Fanad is a peninsula in the north of County Donegal in Ireland, located between Mulroy Bay and Lough Swilly.

- Atlantic Drive – The Atlantic promenade is signposted and takes you around the peninsula. However, it is easy to get lost as the area is full of intersection intertwining and taking the wrong direction at an intersection. The best thing you can do is take advantage of the moment and find your own way.

The main danger when traveling in this region are the roads, or their lack! Traveling on coastal roads can be difficult for those who do not have experience of Irish roads. The roads are narrow and winding, many run along the cliff and the driver will not have the time or the inclination to admire the scenery!
