The rift valley fever is a virosis most often transmitted by direct or indirect contact with blood or organs of infected animals. It can also be transmitted by ingesting raw milk from an infected animal or by the bite of a female mosquito or a blood-sucking fly. Most often benign for humans, it can however lead to serious complications in approximately 3% of cases and death in less than 1% of cases.
