The airport of Denver, Denver International Airport, is located 43 km northeast of Downtown away in the extreme northeast of the urban area.

Denver Airport is one of the world's busiest airports. In terms of traffic, it is the fifth largest US airport and the eleventh largest in the world. It serves as a hub for United Airlines and Frontier Airlines. Similar to Munich Airport, Denver Airport is the product of an "overnight" move in the 1990s - the day before the last flights took off from the old "Stapleton" airport, and in the morning the first flights landed at the new airport. The airport is known nationwide for its extraordinary "art in construction", which has been charged with conspiracy theories on various occasions. For example, there is a striking blue horse, which is nicknamed "Bluecifer" (blue = blue; Lucifer = devil) and the artist was killed when it was created. From Denver's main train station "Union Station" there is a direct rail link in local traffic operated by RTD.
