The international Prague airportMezinárodní letiště Praha-Ruzyněist lies by Ruzyně, the sixth Prague District, about 15 km west of the city center.

At least since the opening of the border and the accession of the Czech Republic to the EU, Prague Airport has also gained influence beyond the borders of the Czech Republic, not least after the opening of a direct motorway connection to Saxony, which is also reflected in the sometimes aggressive advertising of the airport and resident flag carrier, Czech Airlines.
Arrival and departure
The airport is about 15 kilometers west of the city center, but has good transport links to the city center.

The regular ticket costs between 26 and 30 kroner and is valid for 75 minutes. The ticket for the express line costs 50 crowns and is valid for one hour. Ticket offices can be found in the terminals. The tickets are also available from machines and from the driver.

Parking / mobility
There are three parking zones at the airport for short, medium and long parking periods (parking zones a to C). In the latter there is one guarded Parking deck for cars and a separate one for motorcycles. All three are within walking distance (approx. 2-3 minutes) from the terminals. In addition, there is a slightly further away but cheaper parking zone D.
For those who just want to pick up or drop off someone briefly, there are express parking spaces in front of Terminal 1 where you can park freely for up to 15 minutes.
The airport is not directly connected to the metro or tram (as of 2017) and the plans to change this seem to have failed for the time being. Nonetheless, it is possible to get to the main train station (hlavni nadraži) by bus and there is also a bus route from the terminus of the metro.
Car rental companies
The counters for international and national car rental companies are located on the ground floor of parking level C. These are Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Budget, Sixt, Dvorak and CS-Czechocar.

The post office is located between Terminals 1 and 2 and is open Mon - Fri from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sat - Sun from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The airport offers a free WiFi network (prg.aero-free) with transfer rates of 512 kb / sec. However, users of the free network are automatically redirected to the network's homepage every 5 minutes.
In addition, a faster network (prg.aero-hotspot) is offered for a fee of 60 kroner per hour (300 for 24 hours). transmission rates of 10 Mbit / s are achieved here. The fee can be paid online.
