Terminal 1 in Singapore Airport

The airport is managed by the Changi Airport Group. In total, more than 80 airlines fly to around 190 cities in 60 countries. Arrival and departure

The airport is located 20 kilometers east of the city center, but is well connected to the Singapore city center.

With the Metro

The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) subway has a station at Terminal T2. Departures between 5.31 a.m. and 11.18 p.m. At the second stop (at Tanah Merah station) you have to change the train, get off on the left, cross the platform and get on the train towards Stadtmitte / Joo Koon! The 30-minute drive to City Hall Station costs S $ 1.40 (plus S $ 1 deposit for a one-way ticket).

By bus

Bus terminals can be found in the basement of T1, T2 and T3. Departures between 6 a.m. and midnight. Tickets cost up to S $ 2, money is expected to be counted (no money changed!).

With the taxi

In Singapore all taxis are metered and the prices are acceptable. A ride in the normal (blue or yellow) taxis to the city center costs between S $ 20 and S $ 30 (including S $ 3 - 5 airport surcharge). An additional 50% surcharge applies between midnight and 6 a.m. The "Silvercabs" (Mercedes taxis) are more expensive.

By car

There are two highways (Pan Island Expressway (PIE), East Coast Parkway (ECP)) that lead from downtown to the airport.

Terminals

Terminal 2 in Singapore Airport

Singapore Airlines uses Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 for departure, it depends on the respective flight destinations. Which terminal this airline uses for arrival will be announced 2 hours before the planned arrival!

Terminal 1

Terminal 1 opened in 1981. Five of the 32 piers are currently being upgraded for the new Airbus A380. All airlines that are not listed at T2, T3 and the budget terminal operate from this terminal, including some low-cost carriers such as Air Asia and Jetstar.

Terminal 2

Terminal 2 was completed in 1990. It is located south of Terminal 1, facing the south runway. It is mainly from Singapore Airlines and their partners. These are Air India (AI), Air India Express (IX), Asiana Airlines (OZ), All Nippon Airways (NH), Batavia Air (7P), Etihad Airways (EY), Korean Air (KE), Lufthansa (LH), Malaysia Airlines (MH), Philippine Airlines (PR), Royal Brunei Airlines (BI), SilkAir (MI), Shenzen Airlines (ZH) and Sriwijaya Air (SJ).

Terminal 3

Terminal 3 opposite Terminal 2, in front of the Nordwest-Bahn, was put into operation in January 2008. It is designed for aircraft the size of an Airbus A380. This terminal is used by United Airlines (UA), Qatar Airways (QR) and China Eastern Airlines (MU).

Singapore Airlines flies from Terminal 3 to Europe (except Russia and Turkey), to North America, to North Asia (China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea and Taiwan), as well as to Australia and New Zealand.

Budget Terminal

It has been used by low cost carriers since March 2006. Essentially from Tiger Airways. But also from Cebu Pacific and Firefly.

Arrival and departure

Change / transit

The Terminals T1, T2 and T3 are connected by a common transit zone so that aircraft passengers can move freely between the terminals without having to go through immigration. Transport within and between the terminals is supported by a monorail, the Skytrain system, between T1, T2 and T3.

A Transfer between Budget Terminal and Terminals T1, T2 and T3 is only possible after luggage collection and customs clearance. Even with a transfer to T1-T3, the documents, e.g. B. Visa, required for entry from Singapore. With a connecting flight you should therefore allow at least 1.5 hours for arrival formalities in the BT, the trip from the BT to the other terminals and the departure process there.

The Budget Terminal is not connected to the Skytrain. It is connected to the basement of T2 (Bus Bay near Bus 36) by a free shuttle service from BT (between the departure hall and the arrival hall). If you are departing from T1 or T3, you have to change to the Skytrain there. The bus journey between BT and Terminal 2 takes 5 to 10 minutes. Waiting time up to 10 minutes and 30 minutes between 2:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.

Transfer passengers who do not have a boarding pass for their connecting flight, have to go through the arrival immigration of Singapore, (possibly) collect their luggage, clarify the customs matters and then go to the check-in points of the companies of the connecting flight:
