  • Church of San Esteban: It is necessary to emphasize the altarpiece of the greater altar, attributed to José de Churriguera.
  • Los Granados Archaeological Zone: Prehistoric art constitutes the first great evidence, rock art especially, of the artistic capacity of human beings since ancient times. Its recognition in the second half of the 19th century was an important help to relegate the brutal vision that prevailed on human groups in prehistory. The Spanish heritage law recognizes it as an Asset of Cultural Interest.
  • Peñalara Natural Park: On the southern slope of the Peñalara peak is the Laguna Grande, of glacial origin and the result of the erosion of the great ice. At the foot of the peak of the birds there is another lagoon of the same origin. There are also three glacial cirques: that of La Laguna Grande, that of Pepe Hernando and that of regajo de la Pedriza and El Brezal and several moraines. The first is the most important due to its extension, and is formed by two separate recesses in its highest area by a rocky threshold, where the Zabala Refuge is located.

  • Festivities: they serve so that the town changes completely and the people launch themselves to enjoy them with joy. On the occasion of the festivities, the population multiplies, as those people who had to emigrate and the children of those former residents of the town come. Among the events scheduled for these festivals are masses in honor of the patron saint and processions. Because the Patron Saint Festivities are a tradition that is the result of a cultural legacy with a historical-religious background. But not everything is solemn, there is also time for popular festivals, sports activities and traditional games, which are elements that never fail.
  • Festival of the Community of Madrid: Among the historical events of May 2, the events of 1808 occupy a place of honor. On that day, the people of Madrid took on a decisive role in the history of the defense of the Spanish Nation. Also on that day, from Móstoles, the appeal to the Spanish was launched for the first time to come to save their Nation. The representatives of the Madrilenians decided that that day should become important and, therefore, they highlighted it on the calendar.
