To know
Geographical notes
It overlooks the Mykinesfjørður fjord and is surrounded by the highest mountains on the island: Árnafjall (722 meters) to the north and Eysturtindur (715 meters) to the west. It was for a long time the only and last village in the archipelago that was not connected by road. Before the tunnel was built, it was only possible to go to Gásadalur by helicopter or on foot.
