Gaziantep is a city of approximately 2 million inhabitants in Southeast Anatolia in the Turkey.

With over one million inhabitants, Gaziantep is the sixth largest city in Turkey. Actually this is called Antep, but got similar to Kahramanmaraş Awarded this title by Ataturk for the heroic resistance against the English / French occupation after the First World War. But for many locals it is still Antep.

Historically, the city's history goes back at least to the Hittites. They had one of their centers of sculpture here. In the 6th century AD the city is first mentioned when the Byzantines built the castle that already existed here.
