The island Heisa, also Hot, Hesa, Arabic:جزيرة هيصة, Gazīrat Haiṣa, „Haiṣa Island“Is an inhabited island about 2000 meters long south of the old Aswan Dam.

Gazīrat Heiṣa is the largest island between the old dam and the Aswan High Dam south of Aswan. She is southwest of the Bīga Island and des Philae Temple, 2.3 kilometers south of the old dam and 5 kilometers north of the Aswan High Dam.
On the island, which measures 2 kilometers from north to south, there is a village in the southern half of the island. There are also some isolated houses in the north. An estimated 2000 inhabitants live on the island. The northern part of the islands is almost exclusively characterized by rocky landscapes.

By boat
Entry is only possible by boat. Starting points can e.g. B. the 1 Landing stage to the Philae Temple or the 2 Landing stage(24 ° 0 '59 "N.32 ° 52 '4 "E) be at the south end of the street on the west bank. There are always enough boats available at the first-mentioned landing stage. You should only use the dock on the west bank if you have agreed to pick it up.
