Geraldine is a small town in the region Canterbury (New Zealand).

background

In the area around Geraldine there is cattle breeding, mainly dairy farming, but sheep and deer are also raised. The cultivation of grain is rarer. Originally the area was overgrown with the Totara-Tree, a small remnant has been preserved in the area Peel Forest.

Geraldine is up to the Inland Scenic Route 72, this street starts in Amberley north Christchurch, It leads through the inland to Geraldine, from here you come back to Temuka SH 1 or at Fairlie on the SH 8 towards Lake Tekapo.
