Golden sands (Златни пясъци, Slatni pjasazi) is a tourist place on the BulgarianBlack Sea coast.

background

Golden Sands, literally actually "Golden Sands", in Bulgaria often just called Slatni, is the name of a beach on the Black Sea, 16 km northeast of the city of Varna, Bulgaria, as well as the name of a tourist town on the beach of the same name. The golden beach is 3.5 km long and in some places up to 100 m wide. The name is probably due to the gold shimmering, fine-grain sand, which comes from ground mussels. In contrast to Sunny Beach to the south, the name of the beach is not an invention of the tourism industry, but was common centuries ago.

To be on the safe side, you should always leave large amounts of cash and the most important papers in the hotel safe.

Practical advice

Anyone who takes euros with them and wants to exchange them on site is better advised with Varna. The exchange rate of euros in Leva is 1.94 in the center of Varna, 1.9 in the center of Golden Sands and 1.8 in the hotels. These differences become noticeable even with medium quantities.

Avoid the train station area in Varna itself. There are scammers lurking around who promise an exchange rate of 2: 1 or offer drugs.

In the entire area of the party mile, toilets are very rare and often very dirty, so you should not go there unprepared.
