History

For a few years, Grythyttan held city rights: Queen Kristina granted city privileges for Grythyttan on 11/8 1641 in order to help the trade for Hällefors. It is stated in this letter of privilege, that a mountain town "where condominiums are formed and built shall not suffer any shortage of supply to its satisfactory entertainment" and further "grant and give full permission, all those who wish to relocate. put down and where careless become ". There should not have been any major upswing for trade with this, so the city rights were repeated and given a more detailed form in 1649 and confirmed in 1660 and 1668. In 1675 the matter was back on top, and a royal resolution on 24 Sept. Grythytte gave city dwellers the right to enjoy the city privileges until the next Riksdag and in this they received in a special resolution on 4 March 1678 an assurance that the privileges were valid until further notice, which was repeated on 25 Nov. 1680. Among the craftsmen (about twenty) who lived in Grythyttan in the 1670s, disputes often arose because it was unclear whether inheritance should be printed according to national or city law. When this was complained about at the Riksdag in 1682, Grythyttan's city privileges were abolished by royal resolution on 22 December of the same year. So Grythyttan never became a city but had city privileges for 41 years.

Björskogsnäs nature reserveLocated on a peninsula a few kilometers south of Grythyttan. It shows a well-preserved agricultural landscape where pastures and pastures are kept open. The calcareous soil and the character of the area create conditions for a unique flora with several rare plants such as guckusko and krissla. In addition to these, there are many other beautiful but more common flowers and plants.

Follow the hiking trail around the reserve and enjoy nature.
