Gründau is a municipality in the Kinzigtal in South Hesse.
background
Gründau, named after the river of the same name in the municipality, is a large municipality that today consists of seven districts:
- Breitenborn (Wächtersbach Office)
- Gettenbach
- Loveless
- Hain-Gründau
- Mittel-Gründau
- Niedergründau
- Rothenbergen
The individual districts are largely characterized by villages without any distinctive sights. Lieblos is known for its large shopping center that is frequented by countless commuters. Loveless is in the east with the neighboring city Gelnhausen grown together, the border can only be recognized on site by the house numbers.

The 1 Lieblos station and the 2 Mittel-Gründau train station are served every hour by trains on the Gießen-Gelnhausen route. The next transfer station is Gelnhausen, long-distance train stations can only be found again in Hanau or Fulda.

The large community is with two exits to the 
well connected: 
41 Gründau-Rothenbergen and 42 Gründau-Lieblos. The federal road leads from the latter exit 
crossing-free through the large community.
mobility
The regional bus company RDG connects all districts with each other with three bus routes. The bus company is known regionally for the mean look on the entire fleet - quite an eye-catcher! The buses run every two hours, but by overlapping several lines, Mon-Fri sometimes run every hour. There is no traffic at all on Sundays.
Due to its seclusion, Gettenbach is the only district that is only served by prior arrangement by telephone. This is not a call taxi, but the buses then drive a loop through this place. If you want to get to Gettenbach from another district, you have to tell the bus driver so that he can drive the loop.
Tourist Attractions
- 1 Niedergründau mountain church.
The Bergkirche in Niedergründau is the oldest church and was previously the central church for all of the districts of Gründau. The Gothic tower dates from the 16th century, the nave was rebuilt in the 19th century. - 2 Laurentius Chapel. The Laurentius Chapel in Hain-Gründau from the 16th century reminds of the former location of the village south of the Gründau. In the Thirty Years' War the entire village was destroyed, after the war the village north of the Gründau was rebuilt, so that the chapel, which was formerly in the center of the village, is now outside of the village. Services are still held in the chapel today.
- 3 Gettenbach Castle, Eichelkopfstrasse 65. Gettenbach Castle has a long tradition as a forester's house in the extensive forest areas around Gettenbach, but it wasn't until the 19th century that the Ysenburg-Büdingen-Meerholz family built a hunting lodge on one wing of the former three-winged courtyard. After this Isenburg sideline became extinct, the castle stood empty for years. The castle now serves as a home for mentally handicapped people and is therefore not open to the public.

- golf: At Gut Hühnerhof there is a large 18-hole course and a smaller 9-hole course (see accommodation).
- hike: In particular, the districts of Breitenborn and Gettenbach in the forest are ideal for hiking. In Gettenbach there is a large parking lot for hikers at the end of the village and several signposted circular routes for "Flachlandtiroler", while Breitenborn is more for experienced hikers due to the extremely steep slopes.
Regular events
- Motorcycle church service every year in spring at the start of the season at the Bergkirche in Niedergründau. It is one of the largest motorcycle meetings in Germany.

The usual system catering (McDonald's, KFC) is represented in Lieblos. You have to look for restaurants with good food with a magnifying glass.
