Gujarat - the second after the state Maharashtra the most industrialized state in India. It is located in the northwest of the country. Its capital is Gandhinagarand the largest city - Ahmadabad.
Characteristic
The official language of the state is Gujarati. Most of the inhabitants are Hindus, other important religions are Buddhism, Islam, Jainism, Zoroastrianism and Christianity. In recent years, there have been religious conflicts in Gujarat, in which about 2,000 people (mainly Muslims) have died.
