Gussignies is a village of Nord Pas de Calais, in the department of North and the district of Avesnes-sur-Helpe.

Understand

Gussignies surprises in this department, considered the flat country. This village is indeed very hilly, since it has a vertical drop of 80 meters, formed by the torrential Hogneau.
This river allowed the installation of two industries exploiting stone, wealth of the local subsoil. Now missing, a discovery tour not only enhances this marble past, but also the presence of an active quarry.

The Au Baron brewery was created in 1989 in the establishment of the same name, it brews only unfiltered beers which benefit from a triple fermentation in the bottle. The hop varieties used in the different recipes come from the cultures of French Flanders. Today no less than 200,000 bottles of beer are produced each year in Gussignies. most are sold in the region but a good part is intended for export to Belgium, the USA and Spain.
    It is also a "shop of Avesnois" where you can buy local products.
