Itaobim is a city in Jequitinhonha Valley, in the state of Minas Gerais.

Located on the left bank of the majestic Jequitinhonha River, the city's population is approximately 25,000 people. It is located at a strategic point between the southeast and the northeast, between Minas and Bahia. The city of Itaobim is surrounded by mountains that serve as a historical reference and natural frame.
Anyone visiting Itaobim should visit the Museum of Art and Culture, specialized in taxidermy (stuffed animals), restaurants and small bars.
The city is known as "Terra da Manga", and every year there is a big party, the Festa da Manga, where there are several shows, a local handicraft fair and stalls with typical foods.
The climate is sunny year-round. Winter is dry and summer is rainy.
To arrive
The BR-116 crosses the city, between Medina and Ponto dos Volantes. BR-367 also provides access to the city.
