The city was formerly known as: "City of Colonial Furniture" and now just as "City of Furniture". This fact, due to the opening of a store with very tasteful furniture and diversified styles, mostly contemporary, fell in the taste of visitors who came to the city in search of novelties. Today is one of the biggest stores in the city, easily noticed for its size and beauty and installed on one of the main avenues. In order not to lose market, the other stores started to offer furniture of new styles, however the city still houses the traditional colonial furniture stores.
