The highest mountain is that Triglav (Dreikopf) with 2,863 m and thus also the largest mountain in Slovenia. He is also the namesake for the national park.

getting there
The Julian Alps can be reached by car via the Tauern motorway and the Karawanken tunnel. From there you can quickly reach the places on the north side of the mountains. If you want to go to the south side of the Socatal, drive over Krajnska Gora and the Vrsic (pass).

- The Soča source, Izvir Soce, lies at an altitude of 1050 m and is one of the most beautiful springs in the Alps.
- The Soča created a number of Ravinesnear the village of Soča in the Trenta valley. Access is possible from the street.
- Mlinarica is a wild gorge up to 80 m deep. Access to the estuary and the first waterfall are secured.
- The Boka waterfall is Slovenia's second highest but most powerful waterfall with a height of 106 m
- The Križ lakes, Kriška jezera are three mountain lakes at 1800 - 2200 m above sea level Kriški podi, above the Trenta valley. Accessible via a mountain path near the Pogačnik hut.
- Access to the canyons and waterfalls of the Predelica is only possible with suitable equipment and a guide.

- The Prestreljenik windowPrestreljenikovo Okno is a 6 m wide and 7 m high natural rock window in the SE ridge of Prestreljenik. The mountain path that leads to it is demanding in the last section.
