Jurmala, the pearl of Latvia, is the largest resort in the Baltic Sea. No other place has beaches with tens of kilometers of white fine sand. Nowhere else do pine trees in dunes purr so calmly. And the air is full of ozone and the freshness of the sea. Just behind the dunes is Jurmala with beautifully divided windows, porches and roof structures. Next to them there are contemporary buildings that blend in perfectly with the landscape.
Jurmala is a city on the top of the wave. A wave of achievement, hope, love and success. The waves in the Gulf of Riga, with their white crest, are calm and inviting. During autumn storms, they become harsh and set their own rhythm. It is 33 km long, between Lielupe, one of Latvia's main rivers, and the Gulf of Riga. At its narrowest point, it separates the river from the sea 300 meters.
There are many hotels and guesthouses in the city that offer the widest choice of tastes. There are pools with sea water and mineral water. Tennis courts and yacht clubs. Jurmala offers various cultural, recreational and sports activities. Favorites are traditional festivals - the Jomas Street Festival and the Fisherman's Festival, both taking place in July in the middle of summer. For unforgettable moments, take a summer ferry trip down the river Lielupe. The history of the city, along with people famous in Latvia, is visible in six museums, including one of the few open-air museums in Latvia. By walking the nature trails, you can get more wonderful sculpture, flora and fauna.
Jurmala is a beautiful and interesting place during the summer months, from June to August. The city is perfect for conferences and meetings.
Certainly every tourist and hospitality reception in Jurmala. Every moment in Jurmala gives you energy and lasts a long time.

The city is characterized by wooden architecture with gingerbread accents, cottage-style buildings and resorts. The architecture of wood is its most unique feature. Only Lielupe, Pumpuri, Melluži, Vaivari and Sloka saved their wooden buildings of the railway station. 1 Dzintari concert hall was built on the site of the once famous Eidenburg amphitheater, where the Eidenburg resort opened in 1897. Today, it is the most popular concert venue with frequent international stars.
The most notable recreational area was the 2 Horn gardens (Horna dārzs), which hosted the first screening of the film in Jurmala and the first Latvian performance of symphonic music. Majori guesthouse was built next to the Horn gardens. Another historic building is Emīlija Rācene swimming center, built between 1911–1916 and used as a medical institution. 3 Sanatorium Marienbāde (Marienbades nams) built in 1870 is located on the border of Dubulti and Majori and was once a vast health and leisure center but has experienced several fires.
Jurmala is also home to Latvia's only equestrian therapy center, 4 Of the "Vaivari" National Rehabilitation Center. Driving in the late 19th century was a popular pastime in Jurmala, and people rode both the streets and the beach. After that, riding on the beach was forbidden. 5 Jurmala Ethnographic Museum houses examples of life that once existed in fishing villages along the coast.
