Kashgar is one of the cities of the Silk Road, in the Xinjiang, famous for its market.

Here we are on the borders of China between the terrible desert of Taklamakan, the high mountains TianShan, of the Pamirs and the frozen peaks of Karakorum; So far away that Beijing's voice is struggling to be heard in a place where the population is 90% Uyghur, Tajik or Kirghiz. Kashgar (in the Uighur language, Kashi, means "the place of the jade"), whose history goes back more than 2100 years, played since antiquity an important role in the international trade because it is located at the crossroads of the roads of the Center, South and North which represent the different routes of the Silk Roads. Nowadays the merchants of the border countries (Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Kighizistan) continue to animate the streets of the city and especially the Sunday market. But Kashgar has an airport with international standards, an international bus station and since 1999 the railway has linked it to Urumqi. All these means of communication could augur according to the geopolitical evolution of the region, the birth of a high technology route.
