background
Next Derinkuyu Kaymaklı is definitely the second large, well-developed city in terms of tourism.
The Hittites are said to have created the first cave complexes here. The early Christians in this region expanded the facility to protect against persecution. The church on the second floor could also come from this period. The city was last used as a refuge from the Egyptian troops in the 19th century.
The facility runs over eight floors. A circular path leads through the facility over five floors. The system is clearer and more extensive than e.g. Derinkuyu and more suitable for tourists with a slight discomfort in caves.
According to legend, an existing connecting tunnel to Derinkuyu has never been discovered
