Understand

Weather

There are 2 dominant seasons on the island, the dry season and the rainy season, the first starting in March and ending in July. The second begins in October and ends at the end of December. Whatever the guides say, the rainy season is an alternation of small rains. It is rare (but not impossible) for a rain to last more than half a day. The weather alternates during this period, and the tendency is rather one or two small rains per day. In recent years almost no rain has been recorded during the month of October. The best times to visit the island are from January to March (before the heat and very low tides) and from mid-July to mid-October (before the first drops).
