Kochi (formerly Cochin) is a city located in India in the state of Kerala.

Most trains crossing Kerala stop in Kochi. The city has two main stations:

- Ernakulam Junction Station (South Station), (IR Code: ERS) ☎ 91 484 2353751. This is the main train station. Most of the long distance trains crossing Kerala pass here.

To go from one island to another and more precisely from Ernakulam City to Fort Kochi, it is the easiest and most economical way: 2 to 4 rupees depending on the company making the trip. A ferry leaves every 10 min and up to 20 h.

The quietest place is Fort Kochi, Ernakulam being a big noisy and polluted city like many big Indian cities. As a result, the prices in Fort Kochi are much higher but still acceptable and it is possible in low season to find a hotel for 200 rupees or less.
