Koekelare[1] is a municipality in West Flanders located in the heart of the Houtland. In addition to the center of Koekelare, the municipality also has three parishes: Bovekerke, Zande and De Mokker.

Koekelare was a turntable in the First World War for the Germans, this can still be seen through the remains of 'Lange Max'.
