Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén County - the county in the north-east Hungarian, on the border with Slovakia. It was created by merging some of the former counties of Borsod, Gömör és Kishont, Abaúj-Torna and Zemplén, remaining in Hungary after the Treaty of Trianon. It is included in the EU's "Northern Hungary" (Észak-Magyarország) statistical region.
