Hajdú-Bihar County - the county in the eastern Hungary, over the border with Romania.
The western belt of the county is situated in the valley of the Tisza, belonging to Międzyrzecz Danube and Tisza. The central and eastern part of the county is a strip of plains belonging to the Zacisan Region (Tiszántul): Hortobágy, the southern part of Nyírség, Hajduság and the northern part of the Great Sárrét (Nagy-Sárrét). The main rivers of the county are Tisza, Kösely, Konyári-Kálló, Berettyó and Rapid Keresz. There is a part of the great network of drainage channels created in the course of the regulation of the Tisza River in the county.
