The northern interior of the island is crossed by the railway line Bastia - Corte - Ajaccio, There are train stations in Vizzavona, Vivaro, Venaco, Corte, Francardo, and Ponte Leccia, the latter being the only transfer station in Corsica, as it is also on the line behind Calvi.
