Kuwait - a country located in the south-west Asia on the northwest coast of the Persian Gulf. It borders with Iraq (242 km) i Saudi Arabia (222 km) - the total length of the land borders is 464 km and 499 km of the sea coast.

Natural environment
Kuwait is located on the Persian Gulf in a dry steppe and sandy deserts. The inland summers are extremely hot and dry; even the wetter coast is one of the poorest regions in terms of rainfall. Tourists mainly visit the Old Town in the city of Kuwait and the island of Fajlaka (holiday hotels and beaches).

From 1899 Kuwait was a British protectorate. In 1961 he gained independence. Executive power is in the hands of the emir of the ruling dynasty. The National Assembly has limited functions. In August 1990, Kuwait was occupied by Iraq and liberated in early 1991 after the Gulf War.
