Characteristic

Geographical location: 49 ° 30'05 "N 21 ° 10'40" E

Kwiatoń is located in the lower section of the Zdynia valley, at an altitude of approx. 415-435 m above sea level.

In the years 1975-1998, the town administratively belonged to the then Nowosądeckie Province.

In these areas, for years, the influences of two great Christian rites - Eastern and Western - were intertwined, which is why the churches are intertwined here with churches.

The Lemkos were the most original group of people in these areas. This itinerant pastoral people was distinguished by a separate language, colorful borderland culture and Greek Catholic religion. Today, Lemkos, after the forced eviction of them in the late 1940s, are reminiscent of preserved churches.

One of the most beautiful buildings of this type is the parish church in Kwiatoń. The exceptionally slender and soaring building represents the typical style of Lemko churches.
