Kobe beef is a specialty. They say that you can only get the real 1A Kobe beef in Kobe. There are a few restaurants that offer Kobe beef. Usually you choose between the tenderloin and the sirloin, whereby the sirloin is a little fatter and therefore more juicy. The finer piece, however, is the tenderloin. It is prepared in front of you on a teppan.
The prices for such a steak (130-150 g) are around 6000-9000 yen, which is a bargain compared to Germany.
