La Trinité is a city in Martinique.
background
This fishing village is located 28 km from Fort-de-France on a sheltered bay, was founded in 1678 and was an important port in the 18th century, where there is now a fishing school. To protect against English attacks from the sea, two fortifications were built, Le Fort Sainte Catherine and La Batterie de la Caravelle. Two of the cannons are in front of the city hall today.
The promenade, built between 1989 and 1993, is lined with palm trees. There are a large number of good restaurants in the fishing district. Bananas and sugar cane are grown in the area.
In the district town of Trinité there is a hospital, banks and all shops.
In the village of Tartane, 7 km away, you will find a fish and lobster market, a bakery and a small grocery store, newspaper and gift shop, gas station and car rental.

- Anse L`Etang, Tartans. A beach with palm trees and a holiday village, which is also popular with the locals. There is a snack bar, picnic tables and you can play mini golf.
- Anse Spoutourne, Parc Naturel Regional de la Martinique. This beach on the south side of the peninsula was established in 1977, there is a tennis court and sailing sports.
- Baie you safe, Caravelle Peninsula. White sandy beach with shady trees, showers for a fee, hotel.
- Plage de Anse Bonneville, North side of the Caravelle peninsula. Natural beach.
- Plage de Anse du Bout, on the northeast tip of the Caravelle peninsula.
- Plage de Tartane. There are picnic tables and a number of seafood restaurants on the beach.

In the street
The town of Trinité is purely as the crow flies, only 18 km from Fort-de-France on the opposite side of the island. It is around 35 km by road. There are two ways to get there.
On the well-developed (expressway) Route National 1 past Lamentin and at Petit Morne to the north coast past Le Robert to Trinité.
The second route is the much worse, narrower and winding national road 4. It leads from Fort-de-France over the mountains and through the towns of Saint-Joseph and Gros Morne to Trinité.
