the lake turkana, formerly known as Lake Rudolf, is the largest permanent desert lake in the world and the largest alkaline lake in the world. Almost exclusively in the territory of Kenya, only its northern end is in Ethiopia. Fed by the Omo, Turkwell and Kerio rivers, its only outlet is evaporation.
