Lady Smith is a city in KwaZulu-Natal.
background
It may sound a bit strange to European ears, but the city is actually called "Frau Schmitt", at least that is the direct translation of the English name. Meant is the Spanish wife of Sir Harry Smith, the British Governor General of the Cape Colony. He himself was the namesake of the city Harrismith.
