The MRC de Lotbinière is located on the south shore of the St. Lawrence River, just 50 kilometers upstream from Quebec City. The territory of the MRC covers an area of 1 647 km2 and count around 30,000 residents. The Lotbinière MRC is crossed by major transport axes. The presence of Highway 20 is undoubtedly one of the great strengths. Through this road link, businesses can easily access the market in the cities of Quebec and Montreal. The presence of highway 73 (Beauce) is also a major asset for the southern part of the MRC. In addition to this, scenic route 132, now the “Navigator Route” since 2011, reveals a heritage beauty and splendid views of the St. Lawrence River. Note also the presence of the “Green routes” 1 and 3 and the “Trans-Canadian” path.
Economically, the MRC has several manufacturing companies mainly in the field of wood processing. Agriculture is very present there, especially in dairy, pig, beef and maple production.
