Lowlands is a city in Tobago.

background

Centuries ago, this wide, flat area in the southwest was ideal for growing sugar cane. Today we are slowly starting to develop tourism. The first major construction project was the Hilton Hotel and the golf course. A marina, a villa complex and other hotels will follow. There are other small hotels and apartment houses in the surrounding area. A large shopping center was just being built on the main road from the airport to the capital Scarborough (Claude Noel Highway).
