Magaluf is a tourist settlement on Mallorca near Calvià southwest of Palma de Mallorca.

background

Magaluf is an important vacation spot on Mallorca, which is particularly popular with British, Russian and Scandinavian package travelers. The place is well known as a stag and hen party destination for visitors seeking sun, sea and wild nightlife.

Magaluf makes a lot of appearances in the UK press, especially because of the binge drinking that thrives among the young Brits visiting the place. The big hotel chains and the local council take a more relaxed view of this, however: older visitors and families are returning to the resort.
