Mavis Grind -: Right the Atlantic Ocean, left the North Sea
- Northmavine - The two hundred square kilometer peninsula in the northwest of Mainland is only connected to the main island by an almost 33 m wide isthmus, called Mavis Grind. Mavis Grind is the narrowest piece of land in the British Isles. The A970 takes you to Northmavine, whose peculiarities are the cliffs, largely untouched nature and the Neolithic chambered cairn are at the top of Ronas Hill, the highest point on the island.
