Mannar is a city of Sri Lanka in the northern province.

Understand

The city is located on the island of the same name which is part of the Adam's Bridge archipelago stretching between theIndia and the Sri Lanka. Adam's Bridge is made up of countless sandy islets, uninhabited with the exception of Mannar and the island indian of Pamban, also called Rameswaram Island. This succession of sandbanks also known as the Rāma Bridge used a railway cut in 1965 during a cyclone and which has not been restored.
