The Corn Islands are known for their unspoilt coral islands and preserved culture with a mixture of Creole and Miskito influences. The restaurants are known for their lobster dishes.

The islands are only accessible by domestic flights from Bluefields and Rama in Nicaragua. The thirty hotels present have a total of about 250 hotel beds.
