Mbabane is the capital of Eswatini.

Mbabane is quite a young city. It goes back to a trading post founded in 1887. After the end of the Second Boer War, Mbabane became the capital of the British Protectorate in 1903 Swaziland. The reason was the city's malaria-free location in the Highveld. After the country's independence, Mbabane remained the capital, where the ministries and embassies are located. However, the king as the absolute ruler has his palace nearby Lebombo.
Although the city was declared a city in 1992, it has relatively little urban character.
