Melide is a Swiss Municipality in the canton Ticino.

Melide is on Lake Lugano, on the north-west bank below Monte San Salvatore, where the Melide dam crosses the lake (motorway, main road and railway line). The village is located southwest of the dam and is therefore not directly affected by through traffic.

The Melide exit on the A2 motorway (half-way connection to / from Luganao) is located next to the village center. When arriving from the south (Chiasso), the Bissone exit on the other side of the dam must be used.

Scheduled boats operate on Lake Lugano and the municipality has a landing stage.
