Memramcook is a village of Southeastern New Brunswick to Canada. It has an important historical heritage.
Understand
Memramcook is a farming village located in Westmorland County in the Southeastern New Brunswick. It has long been inhabited by the Mi'kmaq and saw the arrival of Acadians circa 1700. These were largely deported from 1755, but the village survived anyway. Moreover, the first Acadian National Convention in 1881 was organized in Memramcook.
Memramcook includes the first French-speaking university in Eastern Canada, the Collège Saint-Joseph, which opened in 1864.
